The widgets are free. Embed them on your allowed websites for visitors to use within the fair-use and per-request limits. Widget owners can review usage history; submitted text and results are retained for the configured history period.
We reserve the right to disable the widgets on individual websites that don’t meet our requirements — for example sites involved in spam or abuse, illegal or misleading content, misuse of the Clever brand, or automated traffic that harms the service.
The “Powered by Clever” line must stay visible. It is part of the fixed branding rendered inside the widget’s iframe. Choose a light, dark, or automatic theme and place the widget where it suits your page.
Over time we may change usage limits or introduce paid options. If that happens, we’ll announce it in advance — sites in good standing will always have time to adapt.

Is it really free?
Yes — the widgets are free to embed and use within the fair-use and per-request limits. Keep the small “Powered by Clever” line in the widget footer visible. See the fair-use note above for the usage rules.
Will the widget break my site's styles?
The widget renders inside an iframe, which keeps its styles separate from your page. The script version creates that iframe and adjusts its height automatically. If your platform strips third-party scripts, use the direct iframe version and set its height in the embed code.
Are there any usage rules?
Just fair use. We may disable the widgets on sites that violate our requirements, and we may introduce limits or paid options in the future with advance notice — see the note above. Day to day, you simply embed and use them.
Can I customize the widget appearance?
Choose light, dark, or auto to follow each visitor's system preference, and place the widget where it fits your page. The Clever branding, button colors, and internal layout are fixed.
Can I remove the "Powered by Clever" link?
The “Powered by Clever” link is part of the widget's fixed branding and must stay visible. It is rendered inside the iframe. You can choose the theme and placement of the widget on your page.
When does the API open?
Soon — the widgets already run on it, so opening it up is mostly docs and keys. Join the waitlist and we'll email you the moment it's live. It will start free.
